The Physical and Environmental Register
The physical and environmental register deals with the fabric of the buildings on the site, their scale and measure, their composition. It deals with their phases of development, with layers of interventions and alterations and additions over time. It deals with the surrounding grounds, their topography, how they have been altered, designed, planted, the ecology they support. It deals with the environmental behaviour and climatic performance of buildings and gardens – the affordances they offer in terms of heating, cooling etc.
